Working at heights
Working at heights is not a significant hazard within the disability service area if looking at extreme heights and would generally be undertaken by contractors. However, some providers may have house maintenance crews where staff may assist with clearing of leaves from gutters etc. Support workers are also known to climb ladders when undertaking cleaning tasks and to reach high storage areas and fall from ladders are a common cause of injury.
A sample working from heights policy and ladder safety guidelines are therefore included.
